When a thunderstorm booms in the distance, Norman Mail Pigeon arrives with a sweetly-scented invitation addressed to Eric Seagull, Rock-Face Nest, at St. Mary’s Bay, Brixham, in not-so-sunny South Devon, England, and the herring gull finds himself in all sorts of bother. Leaving his small best friend and housemate Herbie the white mouse behind, he zooms off to Fishcombe Cove to visit Fairy Bluebelle. He avoids a sky disaster and has a brief meeting with cave spider Charlie Longlegs. Magic tickles appear, and Fairy Bluebelle finally makes her wish. Eric can’t fly, sleeps beneath the stars on the beach, and misses his deadline to write about his adventures for The Brixham Times newspaper!
When Eric Seagull receives an invitation to The Christmas Circus at Ladybird Cove, the herring gull invites his two friends along. With his tiny best friend and housemate Mouse Herbie, the white mouse, safely aboard his inner feathers and Norman Mail Pigeon following closely behind, they take off from Eric’s home (Rock-Face Nest) at St. Mary’s Bay in wintry South Devon, England. After seafaring adventures with Lady Beatrice, Arthur Jellyfish and the Dawn Chorus, Eric spots a sign: ‘Christmas Circus This Way’. But, the adventurers soon discover double trouble awaits them inside The Big Top.
